Draft for Joel and counsel. Not legal advice, and not ready to hand to a carrier until the contact address and company name are filled in.

SMS terms and opt-in

Draft for a Twilio 10DLC customer-care campaign. Program name: Chattif customer care. This is not a marketing program.

What the messages are

Messages are replies to a customer who contacted a business, plus the occasional handoff update that customer asked for. We do not send promotional blasts. Message frequency varies by how often the customer writes in. Message and data rates may apply.

How a customer opts in

A customer opts in in one of two ways:

  1. They text the business number first, which is a request to be answered at that number.
  2. They submit their mobile number on that business’s own website. The consent box is unchecked by default and sits next to the language below, with the business name and a link to this policy filled in.
I agree to receive customer-care text messages from {Business Name} at the number I provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Privacy policy: {privacy URL}.

STOP and HELP

Reply STOP to cancel customer-care texts from that business. Reply HELP for help, or contact the business directly. After STOP, the desk should not text that customer again unless they opt in again.

Privacy

Mobile numbers are not shared with third parties for their marketing. See the privacy policy.

The setup form on this site collects an owner’s phone so Joel can talk about setup. That form is not the consumer opt-in for the 10DLC campaign, and checking it does not enroll anyone in marketing texts.
